We provide experience, practical help and risk capital for the development of new renewables projects, such a solar and onshore wind.
We understand the development process, and are happy to take risk.
We are currently working on a portfolio of ground mount solar sites, providing funding for the at-risk costs of planning permission, surveys and grid connections.
We also own smaller-scale (< 1 MW) solar schemes.
We are always looking for new sites.
Woodland Creation & Natural Capital
Buying land to create new woodlands
We buy lower quality farmland, get permission for tree planting, and design new woodlands.
We work hard to try and make sure the right trees are planted in the right place, and important habitats are maintained & enhanced.
Well-designed, mixed modern forestry and woodland creation schemes can balance timber production with conservation, nature and carbon sequestration. The new word for this is natural capital!
We are not selling the carbon credits.
To date we've done this on about 600 acres in Wales and the South West, and we're working hard to do more.

Sometimes there are areas of land which don't fit as part of our larger woodland creation plans, so we sell them. They might be suitable for your own natural capital or tree planting project, They are usually in South West England, or South & West Wales

Money (and time & expertise if its wanted and useful) for businesses and projects which are working to improve the environment. This could be in natural capital, forestry, solar or tree planting - or more widely in the environmental space.

Philanthropic lending to Wildlife Trusts to buy new natures reserves.
Patient loans like this enable the charity to move quickly to buy land before having raised the money. Often certain funding streams are only available when the land is owned, or take a long time to conclude, so this mechanism provides much-needed bridging finance.
